How We Help

Agency Funds

Agency Funds

Nonprofit organizations have choices for establishing an Agency Fund at the Merrick Foundation. Agency funds are pooled together in our investment pool so that earnings can be maximized.  Creating this fund allows groups to continue to focus on their mission, while we provide the professional investment expertise, complex gift acceptance and financial statements upon request.   The Merrick Foundation staff works closely with you and your organization to help establish the fund that achieves your organization’s needs for today and into the future. There are two types of agency funds that can be set up:

Agency Endowment
For many nonprofits, creating an endowment is a path to building long term sustainability.  A permanent endowment fund gives organizations the opportunity to create a fund that generates investment income year after year, which can be drawn in set annual payments to the organization, or reinvested in the fund to grow over time.

Agency Non-Endowed Fund
These funds give organizations the opportunity to save non-endowed dollars in a professionally managed fund that can generate investment income year after year, but also remains fully accessible when funds are needed.  A portion of the earned income can be drawn down in set annual payments, reinvested in the fund to grow over time. It's a flexible, simple way for nonprofits to build funds for a project or future operational needs.
